Auto Repair in Richland, WA
The city of Richland is located within Benton County, in southeast Washington State at the junction of the Yakima and Columbia Rivers. Roughly 55,000 people today live in Richland— one of the state’s Tri-Cities– covering just over 35 square miles of land.
Richland was a small farming town until World War II. This is when the U.S Army purchased most of the city’s land and buildings for workers on the Manhattan Project, who were developing the first nuclear weapons. Well after the war ended, the federal government finally sold Richland’s real estate back to private citizens in 1957; the city was then incorporated in 1958.
Richland today remains home to the mostly decommissioned Hanford nuclear site. Golf is now one of the most popular sports in the city, while wine production has become a major local industry.
